As a comics scholar, my research often takes interdisciplinary directions. I am interested in the intersections between word and image in the graphic narratives of the world and in their evolution through time. Mainly, I focus on the regions of Japan, Latin America, and Anglo America and their respective comics cultures (i.e., manga, historieta, and comics).  Aiming for dissertation-length work, I am looking forward to connecting these cultures through an international exploration of women's comics cultures.
